SYENET Releases Top 100 Student Entrepreneurs in Ghana; University of Ghana Leads.

SYENET100After months of research and review of public nominations from across Ghana and beyond, the Students and Youth Entrepreneurs’ Network (SYENet), a subsidiary of The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE) has released the 2016 List of Top 100 Student Entrepreneurs in Ghana.

The List represents student mainly in tertiary institutions, who are combining their studies with setting up and running of businesses on or off campus.

The list according to Mr. Ekow Mensah, CEO of TANOE, is meant to discover and celebrate the outstanding efforts of students to setup and run businesses alongside their academic pursuit and to motivate other students to follow their footsteps. Institutions of higher learning, he said, is the most suitable place for the generation and testing out of innovative ideas that have the potential to become thriving startups and resilient businesses creating employment and reducing unemployment especially amongst graduates and youth.

The list which comprises of students from 24 tertiary institutions across the country has University of Ghana leading with 22 Students, followed by KNUST (16), Ghana Institute of Journalism (10), UCC (8) and others including Ashesi University College, Central University College, GIMPA, Ghana Telecom University College, UPSA, and many more.

Being the first members of the SYENet 100, the students will be using their stories to inspire other students in various institutions across the country as part of the SYENet Rock Your World Nationwide Campus Tour which is aimed  at massively promoting entrepreneurship among students.
